Vinexpo 2009: book your tickets now

In June 2008, airline Air France-KLM reported a 4.1% decrease compared to 2007 in its overall air traffic and cited the reason that there were no Vinexpo or le Bourget exhibitions that year. Collection in aid of the Sichuan earthquake victims – thank you for your generosity!

A calamitous earthquake hit Sichuan province some time before the exhibition opened. Vinexpo had asked all the exhibitors of Vinexpo Asia-pacific to donate bottles in aid of the many victims. In total, 1,912 bottles including around a hundred bottles of spirits were collected. The proceeds from the sale of these donations organised by Watson’s Wine Cellar were handed to the Salvation Army in aid of the Sichuan victims.

California due to come to Vinexpo

Every year, Robert Beynat, General Manager of Vinexpo, meets the leading industry Directors of each major producing country. He has just met the CEOs of the largest Californian companies as well as the Directors of the Wine Institute and the Napa Valley Vintners’ Association.

Vinexpo Asia-Pacific 2010: It’s Hong Kong again!

The Vinexpo Overseas Supervisory Board unanimously adopted the motion to organise the next Asia-Pacific exhibition in Hong Kong again on 25, 26 and 27 May 2010.The 2008 exhibition was unanimously recognised to be a success by exhibitors and visitors alike.
Participants’ satisfaction was not however the only criterion taken into account by the Supervisory Board, chaired by Ms. Dominique Hériard Dubreuil. The latest business indicators all show that Asia is one of the most promising markets in the world and that the industry has confidence in its growth. (Source: Vinexpo)

Wine, a feminine domain?

While ten years ago, there were very few women in the wine world, today they have clearly conquered it.

As seasoned consumers, they assert their tastes and are no longer shy about buying wine or ordering it in a restaurant. As professionals, they head up high profile companies, direct winegrowers’ associations and are experienced “sommeliers”.

All the press - national, specialised, general and women’s - is full of it: wine is also a feminine domain. Without doubt, women are passionate about wine and the world is interested in what enflames them so.

Vinexpo already commissioned the first international study on “Women and Wine” in 2000, and is now preparing a new study with 5 partners in Japan, UK, USA, Germany and France to gauge how much has changed in this quiet revolution.

Vinexpo changes its organisation

Vinexpo SAS has just reorganised itself and introduced a Supervisory Board and an Executive Board. As a result, Xavier de Eizaguirre was appointed as President of the Supervisory Board of Vinexpo Bordeaux, the international wine and spirits exhibition.

The executive director remains General Manager Robert Beynat, who is also member of the 4-man Executive Board chaired by the President of the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Laurent Courbu.

The same Executive Board was set up for the subsidiary Vinexpo Overseas and Ms. Dominique Hériard Dubreuil continues to preside over the exhibitions organised outside France. (Source: Vinexpo)
